It is with heavy hearts that we share the Passing of Rafael Cuellar Jr.

Rafael Cuellar Jr, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, who has been a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew him. Born on September 15, 1964, in Refugio, Texas, Rafael is the son of the late Rafael Cuellar Sr and Estanislada "Tana" Cuellar. As a devoted father, Rafael cherished his son, Rudy Lee Cuellar (Kayla) and relished his role as a grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren: Kenzie, Conor, Trent, Kiley, Carson, and Cruze.. He grew up in a close family, sharing his life with siblings Albert "Smiley" Cuellar (Nora), Oliva Guerrero (Joe, Robert Cuellar ), Linda Cuellar (Gil), Alfredo Cuellar, John Cuellar, and Mary Garcia (Joseph).

He was preceded in death by his loving parents and his siblings, Susan Andrade, Norma Cellar, and Armando Cuellar.Rafael’s life was marked by his extraordinary kindness and strength. His laughter, loyalty, and warmth were trademarks of his personality. He had an uncanny ability to turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories, always bringing joy and a sense of togetherness to those around him. His love extended beyond his immediate family, as he shared a special bond with his numerous nephews and nieces.

Rafael’s greatest happiness came from the simple joys of life - surrounded by family and friends, watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys and Bobcats play. These gatherings were not just events; they were the essence of life itself for him. His generosity, compassion, and steadfast spirit have left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy continues through his girlfriend Belinda Andrade, family, and the countless memories he has left behind. Rafael's family takes comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on in their hearts forever.

A visitation for immediate family will be held on Thursday October 1, 2026 at Moore Funeral Home located at 402 S Alamo St, Refugio, Tx starting at 2-3pm for immediate family 3pm-9pm for visitors. Rosary will start at 7pm. Mass will be held Friday October 2, 2026 10am at St Therese Catholic Church in Woodsboro Tx. following burial services at Holy Cross in Refugio, TX. Rafael Cuellar Jr. leaves behind a legacy of treasured memories and a family who loved him dearly, ensuring that his spirit will always remain alive in their hearts.
