Gary Bellows
January 13, 1955 – October 28, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Bellows who passed away on October 28, 2026 at the age of 71.
Gary was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He will be remembered for his generous heart, his love for family, and the many lives he touched throughout his life. He had a way of making people feel welcomed and loved, and those who knew him will forever carry the memories they shared with him.
Gary is preceded in death by his father, Dewey Bellows.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Bellows; his mother, Delores Bellows; his son, Ryan (Julie) Bellows; his brothers, Terry (Nancy) Bellows, Dewey (Lori) Bellows, and Dennis (Katrina) Bellows. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.
If you knew Gary, you knew his love for football. A proud Texas A&M graduate and devoted Aggie, he also dedicated 47 years to serving as the Refugio Bobcats football statistician. His passion and commitment made him a beloved part of Friday night football and a lasting part of the program’s history.
Beyond football, Gary enjoyed cooking, baking, and, most of all, caring for those he loved. Family was everything to him, and he found joy in making others feel loved and cared for. His kindness, generosity, and dedication to those around him will be remembered for generations.
Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he leaves behind and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat. And one more thing—Gig ’em, Aggies!
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 7th, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Refugio, Texas.
May he rest in eternal peace.
